REFLECTION 2A

A hanger is an economical product. In the early 1800s, there was a need to organize clothes and save space in closets. This led to the invention of coat hooks. At that time hanging clothes on a hanger was a popular word. Rich families and rulers had the facilities of hanging their clothes in space-saving closets until when a worker made a wire hanger. As the design evolved, every household possessed a good number of hangers. The need for variety was one of the factors that boomed its production. This is what we call evolution. Organizing closets is the primary work of a hanger. Showrooms that are well organized tend to make more sales.

Many brands started labeling their hangers so that their brand gains social acceptance when people enter their showroom. Film industries have the dresser made in a way that all the dresses are hung on a rod, and none of them are folded. Not folding clothes is something that these industries follow strictly as they cannot take the risk to retake a scene because of a creased costume. Hangers reduce human labor by increasing the number of clothes carried by a person from point A to point B.

REFLECTION 2B

It started with the need to save space in the closets. Back in the 1800s, King Thomas Jefferson made a closet that could save more space than stacking them. I think that with the advancement of the era, people started to make products out of available materials that could decrease the number of creases. This shows that people started taking fashion more professionally. Unwrinkled pants and shirts depicted royalty and class,

I think this was the reason they need hangers more than ever. With the developing fashion industry, brands started producing hangers with their brand labels to represent authority and elegance. Hanger with brand labels in stores depicted the originality of the product. Humans with crazy brains thought of making hangers for accessories as well! We can find hangers for belts, ties, scarves, and what not? This digital world had made the human body lazy which is why we are creating products that will help us become lazier. In professional words "reduce manual labor". Introducing electronic hangers which can dry clothes.

The purpose of a hanger in the first place was to save space in the closet that has now changed to reducing human labor. We are slowly moving to a world, in which all the work will be done by machines.
