ACTIVITY 9: SIX THINKING HATS

Date - 19 October 2020, Monday

INTRODUCTION

The '6 THINKING HATS' is a book written by Edward De Bono. These help in making the decision by covering every possible aspect of the object. Every hat has a different color and these colors reflect the different attributes. To select the best possible outcome, we were introduced to this technique. People working in management usually use this technique for decision making.

WARM-UP

We were given an hour to come up with a poster on the assigned hat. This poster had to be self-explanatory. Nanki, Rohan, Bulbul, Lipeeka, Smriti, and I were in a group and were assigned the BLACK HAT. We came up with this INCOGNITO look which fit perfectly for our DEVIL'S ADVOCATE. All of them gathered the information, I collated it and with their help and creativity, we came up with this poster.

MAIN ACTIVITY

After seeing every group's poster we got the idea of the other 5 hats. For this activity, we had to apply the 6 thinking hat on a microwave. We picked one hat each and wrote certain points that would come under it. I chose the RED HAT: it focuses on the emotional part of the object.

REFLECTION

ACHIEVEMENTS- These hats cover a large number of attributes and help in taking the best possible decision.

STRUGGLE- The blue hat had me think a lot. It took our whole group 3-4 long explanations by Pranay Sir to get the concept of a blue hat.

ACTION - I need to practice applying all the hats and especially BLUE HAT. I could have thought more about the main activity and given more points on the BLUE HAT.
